4th of July
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND
words and music by Woody Guthrie
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and me
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin'
But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

(from an email):
Please support all of the troops defending our Country.
And God Bless our Military who are protecting our Country & our Freedom.
Thanks to them, and their sacrifices, we can celebrate the 4th of July.
"I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform;so young, so tall, so proud.
With hair cut square and eyes alert,he'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil; how many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down? How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of Taps one night, when everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant 'Amen.'
When a flag had draped a coffin of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children, of the mothers and the wives, of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea.
Of unmarked graves in Arlington
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom and God Bless Our Troops."
(After you read this please stop and say a prayer for our servicemen and country.
Of all the gifts you could give a soldier, prayer is the very best one.)

What a wonderful tribute! Many people thing The Fourth is all about fireworks and fun, you have reached the heart of it...good job.
I had a neighbor that had a whole church praying for him when he was away. He said he felt like he was in a protective bubble the enter time he was in Iraq.
Prayer works!
