Christmas treasures: pt 9
Notice the sweet little girl finger prints?
Thats what I'm calling them 'sweet' :)
Snow nativity from my youth, Mr. and Mrs. Claus bell ornaments, bought when I was in high school (in the early 80's) looking forward to my 'own' grown up tree (AND my own Santa:),
MIL's home interior's nativity, we chose for our youngest after she passed away in 1992.
He sets it up each year.
Next year it becomes his to do with as he pleases (if hubby can let it go:).
My beautiful nativity snow globe, church that looks like the one we were married in, and 'candles' made out of wash rags and soap by one of my kiddos (need to fix the one on the left and find out who actually made them:)

Son-Day: "The First Noel"
The First Noel
The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both Pause and stay
Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Then entered in those Wise men three
Full reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
And with his blood mankind has bought.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
The First Noel is unknown in origin but is generally thought to be English dating back to the sixteenth century. There is a misconception that the First Noel was French and it is believed that this is because of the French spelling of Noel as opposed to the olde English Anglo-Saxon spelling of the word as in Nowell. After England was captured by the Normans numerous words were adopted from the Norman French language and Noel was re-spelt as Nowell, early printed versions of this carol use the Nowell spelling. The First Noel was first published in 1833 when it appeared in "Christmas Carols Ancient and Modern," a collection of seasonal carols gathered by William B. Sandys.

Christmas Treasures: Special Stockings
My mother is a marvelous crocheter
Growing up, my brother and I had HUGE crocheted stockings,
One year I asked her to make matching crocheted stockings for all seven of my children, and hubby.
Each 'top' was different:
Out of nine we are now down to these: this is 18 yos (the baby)
Hubby (whose mother was also a crochetier) loves pineapples:
Mom topped the stocking my grandmother sewed and appliqued for me:
Instead of a chimney, our stockings are hung on the fishtank with care...
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
Santa always takes our stockings down, and leaves them filled under the tree,
I hope you all had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to YOU!
Away in the manger
Worth a repeat:)
As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, lets rededicate ourselves to be his, to follow his example, and be the best we can, showing love and kindness to all.
God Bless You! What ever your path:)
What Child is This?
What Child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus
To my Santa!
The provider of cash:)
The wrapper of presents:)
The builder and light stringer of the fake tree
The cooker of our turkey and ham!
You da' man!
I admit it, I LIKE kissing my Santa Clause!
Thanks honey for Twenty One Christmases!!
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peek
She thought that I was tucked
Up in my bedroom fast asleep
Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night

YOJ?
that's not right!!!
That's BETTER!
I was sorta blue,
I read these scriptures on someone's blog
James 1:2-4
2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
The word JOY stuck out!
That night at our RS (ladies church) Christmas party, this was my gift!!!!
Might have to leave this little beauty out all year:)
Thanks to you ladies that posted this wise phrase:
Joy to you
Joy to those you love
God Bless during this season and all year long:)

Camera Critters: Just A Little WeeWeeChu
(not mine puppies)
(my puppies:)

when Pedro said,"Hey, mamacita, let's do Weeweechu."
Oh no, not now, let's look at the moon!" said Rosita.
Oh, c'mon baby, let's you and I do Weeweechu.
I love you and it's the perfect time," Pedro begged.
"But I wanna just hold your hand and watch the moon." replied Rosita.
Please, corazoncito, just once, do Weeweechu with me."
Rosita looked at Pedro and said, "OK, one time, we'll do Weeweechu."
Pedro grabbed his guitar and they both sang.....
"Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
Weeweechu a Merry Christmas,
and a Happy New Year."
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Show & Tell: Decking GreatGrandma's tree
Daughter Misty likes to help her grandma decorate her tree.
My mom loves her help!
Misty brought us lunch (mmmm, yummy chicken and dumplings Misty style),
came and got me (WOOHOO!),
and brought the kids (double WOO double HOO).
I got to 'corral' the babies while the ladies went to work.
I took tons of pictures trying to get 'the best shots'
(I love digital!)
LauraJune won't smile for the camera, David wants to eat the camera cap...
So I just kept snapping away....
And ended up with these beauties:
AND best shots of the day!
Smiling together!
Hanging 'their' ornaments on their Greatgrandma's tree (with mom's help)
Greatgrandma's tree, all decked out ready for Christmas!!
(and as it seems to run in our family, there was crying, and sneaking out of the corral, chasing, threatening, biting (yep, the little bugger BIT ME!!), playing, teasing, loving, hugging, kissing, and, well you get the picture:)
Thanks Misty for the ride, for helping your Grandma, for yummy nummmy lunch, for just being you!
For Show and Tell notice my mom's gaudy gorgeous tree!!
