Easy peasy, on a dreary day...

I threw this together on a warm, dry day, back in December...
I wanted a pot of herbs for the front porch, for some color (yes, I consider green a color;) this winter...see the little blue blooms?
creeping rosemary

bronze fennel

oregano

The leaf color looks good together, they keep their leaves here, and they like the same amount of water.
Cheery, and hardy and easy.
Winter in East Texas is wet and brown.
A little color is a nice thing:)

Son-Day: "City On Our Knees"

City on our Knees - Toby Mac
If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now
Through the fog there is hope in the distance
From cathedrals to third world missions
Love will fall to the earth like a crashing wave

Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now
Through the fog there is hope in the distance
From cathedrals to third world missions
Love will fall to the earth like a crashing wave

Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It's all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh-oh-oh

Tonight couldn't last forever
We are one choice from together
Tonight couldn't last forever
Ooh
Tonight couldn't last forever
We are one choice from together
As family
We're family
Oh Tonight couldn't last forever
We are one choice from together
You and me
Ya, you and me
Tonight's the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a glorious display
Cuz its all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh oh oh
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh oh oh
If we gotta start somewhere why not here
If we gotta start sometime why not now

Cuteness Run Amuck

My Sweetie Pie is 9 months old!!!
Frank Ann Berry, aka BeBe, is currently going thru another chewing spell.
Nothing is safe.
Basset Reba is so patient...So Very Patient...BeBe is a happy happy girl, and loves her adopted basset mom, Reba...
Beautiful Red Reba and Old Basset Mellow, are truly her doggie family...

Thank goodness we got her a kittysister, Froggee, of her own to play with...The other two cats, white cat Midnight, and Queen Uno, are not so impressed...
During the craziness, Old Cat, Queen Uno stays safe from the 'cat kisser' where she doesn't belong, on the kitchen table...
but she is the Queen after all...

My Bebe, nine months old, and always in action...

"Girls, Girls, Girls"

Today, I looked at the girls I'm babysitting, and, appropriately on Elvis' 75th birthday, I thought of "Girls, Girls, Girls"
(my type of "Girls, Girls, Girls")

It is also my mom and late dad's wedding anniversary.
Mom said they didn't plan on it being on Elvis' birthday, just happened that way!!
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!

Thankful Thursday: Meals On Wheels

Once upon a time, a long time ago, as a small child, I saw a Meals On Wheels ad on TV.
Since then I have had a secret desire to help.
Finally life allowed me the chance, and I (actually got around to) starting.
I started each time with a prayer, for all who prepared, all delivering, all receiving.
That life would allow me to continue.
I felt like I was doing such service!
However, I soon found out, you can't out serve our Heavenly Father.
He blessed me faster than I could ever hope to bless others.
I did a driving route, so the kids I babysat just rode along.
Then my son murdered my car.
Fortunately, we acquired another auto, and I was back on the road again:).
THEN hubby needed our only auto for work:(.
No more Meals On Wheels.
Time passed, and God and I were talking, I was telling Him what I wanted to do when hubs gave the auto back.
I prayed He would help me remember.
THEN I got the truck back!!
My Meals On Wheels leader hunted me down (thanks for intervening God:), and I had a new route!!
I could take my girls I watch with me, and we walked the Senior Citizen Apts.
Fun Fun Fun!
Good for the girls, and great for me!
{wouldn't you want these beauties bringing food to you or your loved one?}

Then I started babysitting babies.
Babies that couldn't walk the route, and didn't need to be in the weather.
Bummer.
What to do.
Back to the drawing board, Heavenly Father and I talked it out, and decided to ask my MOW leader if I could have a driving route again.
The answer was "Yes!", and immediately I was set up with a driving route.
So, today I'm planning out my day, and its cold.
Windy cold
.
I hate cold wind.
Worse than ice.
Coldest its been in 25 years.
I didn't want to go.
Secretly I hoped the weather would be to bad for us to Meals On Wheels today.

Then I remembered all my sweet people counting on that meal.
People who didn't need to be out in this wind.
I thought of all those wonderful people who make sure this food gets out in REALLY cold places. Suddenly it wasn't that cold any more.

I took my 4 yo, 10 mo, and 6 mo girls I watch with me,
and they were so good (and toasty warm in the heated truck).

I am so thankful I have the time and means to help.
I am so thankful that all my people live in warm, safe houses, and that I too, have a warm safe house.
I am thankful for heaters, and that currently, even though it is windy and cold out, the sun is shining.

God bless those who donate, those who prepare, those who deliver, and especially those who receive Meals On Wheels!!

Have a lovely day, no matter the weather!! Our warmth comes from within:)

"Kiss That Frog"

When my kids were younger,
we had a cassette of Peter Gabriel's.
Kiss That Frog was a favorite car ride sing-a-long.

Kiss That Frog: Peter Gabriel
[aah, yeah]
Jump in the water

Sweet little princess
Let me introduce his frogness

You alone can get him singing
He's all puffed up, wanna be your king

Oh you can do it
Cmon
Lady, kiss that frog

Splash, dash, heard your call
Bring you back your golden ball

Hes gonna dive down in the deep end
Hes gonna be just like your best friend

So what's one little kiss
One tiny little touch

Aaah, he's wanting it so much

I swear that this is royal blood
Running through my skin,

Oh, can you see the state I'm in
Kiss it better, kiss it better
[kiss that frog]

Get it into your royal head
He's living with you, he sleeps in your bed

Can't you hear beyond the croaking
Don't you know that I'm not joking

Aaah, you think you won't
I think you will

Don't you know that this tongue can kill
Cmon
Lady kiss that frog

Let him sit beside you
Eat right off your plate

You don't have to be afraid
There's nothing here to hate

Ah, princess, you might like it
If you lower your defense

Kiss that frog, and you will
Get your prince

[huh!]

Jump in the water, cmon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, cmon baby get wet with me
Jump in the water, cmon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, cmon baby get wet
[get wet, get wet]

Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog
Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog
Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog
Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog

Jump in the water, cmon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, cmon baby get wet

Son-Day: " Wings Of A Dove"

On the wings of a snow-white dove
He sends His pure sweet love
a sign from above
on the wings of a dove

When troubles surround us, when evils come,
the body grows weak, the spirit grows numb
when these things beset us, He doesn't forget us
He sends down His love
on the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove
He sends His pure sweet love
a sign from above
on the wings of a dove

When Noah had drifted, on the flood many days
he searched for land, in various ways
troubles, he had some, but wasn't forgotten
He sent him His love
On the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove
He sends His pure sweet love
a sign from above
on the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove
He sends His pure sweet love
a sign from above
on the wings of a dove

On the wings of a dove
wings of a dove

On the wings of a dove
wings of a dove
