"I Run To You"

Lady Antebellum - I Run To You
I run from hate
I run from prejudice
I run from pessimists
But I run too late
I run my life
Or is it running me
Run from my past
I run too fast
Or too slow it seems
When lies become the truth
That’s when I run to you

This world keeps spinning faster
Into a new disaster so I run to you
I run to you baby
And when it all starts coming undone
Baby you’re the only one I run to I run to you

We run on fumes
Your life and mine
Like the sands of time
Slippin’ right on through
And our love’s the only truth
That’s why I run to you....

Thanks, honey, for loving me anyway...you rock!!

Show & Tell: I Might Be Moving To Montana...

Hubby and I have shared our dreams with each other for almost 21 years now. Imagine my surprise when, a few years ago, I found out that all this time he has wanted to move to Montana. That he went once as a child and it was his most favorite place in the world!

I have never let him live it down. How dare he hold out on me!!

I was sharing with my brother our hopes to go to Montana this summer to celebrate our youngest graduating high school (big dreaming there:), and my brother pulls this song up on his computer. A plan was hatched:)

First I looked up the lyrics on line, copy+paste=perfect!
Frank Zappa "Montana" Lyrics:
I might be movin'
to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of
Dental Floss

Raisin' it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
That I can sell uptown

I bought some dental floss

By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Well I just might
grow me some bees
But I'd leave the sweet stuff
To somebody else . .
. but then, on the
other hand I would

Keep the wax
N' melt it down
Pluck some Floss
N' swish it aroun'

I'd have me a crop
An' it'd be on top
(that's why I'm
movin' to Montana)

Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a Dental Floss
tycoon (yes I am)
Movin' to Montana soon
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune

I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
That's growin' on the prairie
Pluckin' the floss!
I plucked all day an'
all nite an' all
Afternoon . . .

I went looking for the perfect pony

I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss
(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)
He's a good hoss
Even though
He's a bit dinky to
strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
He's a bit dinky to
strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
Any way

I'm pluckin' the ol'
Dennil Floss
Even if you think it
is a little silly,
folks
I don't care if you think
it's silly, folks
I don't care if you think
it's silly, folks

I'm gonna find me a horse
Just about this big,
An' ride him all along
the border line

With a
Pair of heavy-duty
Zircon-encrusted
tweezers in my hand
Every other wrangler would say
I was mighty grand

By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely
Dental Floss

Found the perfect container (Pop Rock Candy went to Taylor), notice it says Pop Rocks-kind of like hubby rocks:)

Well I might
Ride along the border
With my tweezers gleamin'
In the moon-lighty night

And then I'd
Get a cuppa cawfee
N' give my foot a push . . .
Just me 'n the pygmy pony
Over the Dennil Floss Bush

N' then I might just
Jump back on
An' ride
Like a cowboy
Into the dawn to Montana

Put it all together, and I was ready for Valentine's day! EXCEPT hubby gave me the flu and we spent Valentine's day together sick as dogs, napping most of the day)

Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
Movin' to Montana soon
(Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)
I emailed hubby the lyrics on Saturday night (I wasn't going to give him and Taylor their 'stuff' til Sunday), and he said 'so when are we getting some dental floss?'

When I gave him the container-stuffed with fruit chews, the pony and dental floss, hubby said "So, are you going to be my Dental Floss Queen?"

AAAHHHH its fun to play!
So tell me, is this a song you've heard before????

In other news, Friday, before I got sick, I went shopping!! No time limit, no rush!

Our grands gave us the little puppies and card with their sweet scribbles inside. Just perfect! Taylor received the pink container full of Mike&Ike candy, Pop Rock packages, and a heart of choc candy.)

My Dutch Anthurium:) (cause I love me:)

New (to me) table scarf? rug? whatever:) and wood fruit

Desk organizer for my desk, that will some day be organized:)

It holds all these goodies in one place.

I don't see us MOVING to Montana, but I would love to visit:)
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day.
Happy Show and Tell Friday!!!

Show & Tell: High Stepping

{I've had problems with the pictures showing up on this post-hope they all come through}

Down came the 'death trap' broken steps...

Up went sturdy temporary backdoor stairs made of scrap wood...

And for this old fella...

A super sturdy ramp, Mellow is doing so well learning to go up them...

And since I'm bragging, I mean sharing, Miss Reba is doing so well letting me know when she needs to go out.

She has been in for almost a week, off the lead, out of the washroom, loose in the house, and what a good girl.

Upon seeing my new steps and ramp, the girls I babysit said "Ms Carla, your new porch is beau-te-full". I see sturdy, they see pretty...ah to be 3 & 4 yo old:)
When my chihuahua died earlier this month, she was my baby, hubby asked if I wanted another, I told him I could just love Reba. Reba has really enjoyed the freedom. What a fun girl. Not the same as my SiSi, but a fun good girl never the less, love the one your with, right?
Thanks to hubby for the safe steps and ramp:)
Happy Show and Tell Friday!!!

Thankful Thursday: 01/22/08 (& My Hubby Rocks on Saturday:)

So much to be thankful for!
...for the sister-in-law who gave Mike Maverick basketball tickets...

...that Mike took his brother Taylor...

...that Mike isn't afraid to be silly...

...that Mike took DJ to the next game AND they won...

...that my boys are still boys...

...for DeeJay staying the night...

...for never ending silliness...

...for purple love...

...that this brother...

...upon hearing about this ...

...was more worried about this...that this, Tay, was driving under the speed limit, and wearing his seat belt, and is ok...

...for kitties sunning...

...for frozen meatloaf (two meals worth)...

...sweet girls I babysit coloring and Mikey filling out job apps...

...for Tay just up and vacuuming...

...for enough to pay the bills, and buy the seeds...

...for my Chico finding a good safe home...

...for my pretty kitties....

...for Heavenly Father painting the winter sky pink...

...For Myspace where my kiddos post their pictures, enabling me to download to my computer...Tiffany and family...

...and LauraJune and David...

...and Aaron...

...and Eric...

Count your many blessings name them one by one...

This week's prompt:
Tell us about a time that your spouse went out of his way to serve you.

When Taylor called to say he was in a car accident on his way home, my sweet hubby dropped everything (including his work schedule) to come home. Meanwhile, he called the police to find out where Tay was, he spoke to the wrecker, and the hospital. He called grandma as back up. The next day he took off, to take Mike around to do the wrecked car stuff. He is such a good father. I'm thankful he is the father of my children! Thanks babe:)

Show & Tell: Progress: Well, come on in!

When reviewing what comforts we may want if 'our' lifestyle collapses, screened windows and doors were high on the list!
So, hi ho hi ho, to Lowe's we must go...

Sweet hubby worked in the dark and got it done!
Since I love the front door open-BUT not the bugs-I'm in heaven:)

He also put up two screens on the windows. Thanks babe!

My Hubby ROCKS! & Love Dare: Day 16

LOVE DARE
DAY 16: Love intercedes
"Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers."
3 John 2
CHALLENGE: Begin praying toady for your spouse's heart. Pray for the three specific areas where you desire for God to work in your spouse's live and in your marriage.
RESULTS: hmmmmm, I'm going to enjoy this:)

DAY FIFTEEN: (forgot how you spell fifteen:) Love is honorable
"Live with your wives in an understanding way...and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life."
1 Peter 3:7
CHALLENGE: Choose a way to show honor and respect to your spouse that is above your normal routine. It may be holding the door for him. It might be putting his clothes away for him. It may be the way you listen and speak in your communication. Show your mate that he is highly esteemed in your eyes.
RESULTS: I'm stopping and listening, really listening, not jumping ahead of him, or wandering off during his talking.

From Katylin (great idea Katylin), at the great adventure, who hosts MY HUSBAND ROCKS! Katylyn:
~ONE~
List at least one thing your husband did or said in the past week that reminded you why you love him.
He gently tended to my chihuahua Sunday night after the stray dog attack. He was so gentle with her, and with me. On Monday, he went to work late, (messing up his whole schedule) to hold my hand while my doggy died. He talked to vet (because I couldn't). He stayed in the vet's office and paid the bill and brought out her sweet body while I went to the truck (to cry), he dug the hole, but let me bury her, and he checked on me all day.
~TWO~
Share a "Generous Wife Tip"
Stop what you are doing and listen when he talks, actually look and him and give him your full attention. Thank him for what he does. Don't expect recognizion, that is not what it it about.

Show & Tell: Progress: Pot rack

Tater-baby (my youngest) asked what do I blog about,

"Progress" I said, "I blog about progress"

My sweet hubby bought this at a SUPER discount last year for our new home (because of the lack of cabinets, and we have always wanted one.)
Taylor-is it possible your are ACTUALLY looking at the directions????
Actually he's just looking at the pictures-what a GUY!
(Check out the beat up box, THAT happened in storage)

Down came the clock (moved to another side of the room:)

TA-DA!!! They took the lights out of the pot rack to use over the island later. It also leaves more room for pots and pans. (need me some more hooks:)

Wasted wall space is now 'productive' storage space! I call that progress!!!
