Show & Tell: My (current) obsession:)

Aren't they beautiful?????? (the correct answer is yes:)

It all started with (pic below, top left) one just like this that my maternal grandma gave me off of her tree. She said Papa bought it for her lllloooonnnnngggg ago. I treasured it-UNTIL a box of Christmas ornaments was left behind in a move. I was so dismayed. And on the look out EVERYWHERE for one like it. (finally I found some on Ebay and gave one to each of my girls and mom)
My first 'replacement' of the little plastic angel was (top right) this silver one. Bought our first Christmas (1988) at a dollar store. (she is leaning because her bottom is curved) She is so thin and fragile.
Next I found these angels that fit over the Christmas lights on the tree. (bottom left) I have several, the new Christmas lights aren't as big so my 'covers' don't stay on so well.
(bottom right) When my grandma died, I asked for her thimble. My mom crocheted me this angel holding the thimble filled with roses. It is out all year in a glass dome, and during Christmas joins the other angels.
You would think I would be satisfied once I found an angel just like my grandma's...

BUT NO! The world of Ebay tempted me with MORE super cool, super old, plastic angels!
(top left) I found this lovely that ACTUALLY looks like my grandma
(top right) My (Estate Sale) Aunt gave me this one last year, and she looks like her-cool huh?
(bottom left) This year's purchase
(bottom right) And the really cool, fold up nativity they surround

(top) While Ebaying, I found a little hard plastic green angel and matching white one. The angel in red is a fire alarm. Up front are really old, hard, plastic ones (that are hard to get a good picture of)
(bottom) lights off, better view of oldest whites

I had to limit my self to TWO angels this year.
I need to save some for next year.
I can hang them on the tree, or display them, either way, I'm in love:)
Happy Holidays to you and yours:)
Happy Show and Tell day-too:)
{missing from these pictures are my new one in the mail:) and the one in the 'missing' box of Christmas stuff-hopefully they will make it in time this year:}

YES! I agree.

Beautiful collection, and great restraint to limit yourself to 2 per year (not sure I could). Hope the missing box turns up.....we lost a box for 2 years when we moved house, I found it one July!

I love to see other people's Christmas Decor. Thanks for sharing yours.

I am blogging daily until Christmas Eve about my decor, traditions and food here in Northern Ireland.

I have one corner full of my little angels, me too, so I can understand your obsession so well!

I know just what you mean about obsessions/collections. I now have over 175 Santas and still get more each year. Love your angels. Super that you found some on Ebay.

My show n tell this week is a holiday story...come by if you can find some time, won't you? Happy weekend.

Beautiful decoration ! I love angels more than Santas, when I was a child we only had angels, Santas didn't exist yet ! (I am not 200, lol )

I absolutely love, love, love your angels! I collected them for awhile, then gave up on it. You just might inspire me to start again :). And, yeah, watch out for eBay - lol! Don't you just love it?

The plastic one with the gold wings holding the star reminds me of the topper we had when I was growing up! So cute!

The one your mom crocheted to hold your grandma's thimble has got to be the best! They are all beautiful, though!

Maybe some true 'angel' will GIVE you more angels this year. People always love to contribute to a collection.

What a great bunch of them you have, and each so different.

So glad I could see them.

I've never EVER shopped on ebay. Really, I know, I'm strange.
