Son-Day: Mother I love you
Mother I Love You
Mother, I love you;
Mother, I do.
Father in heaven has sent me to you.
When I am near you,
I love to hear you
Singing so softly that you love me too.
Mother, I love you;
Mother, I do.
I want to help you because I love you.
I want to mind you;
I want to find you
Happy and smiling because I love you.
Mother, I love you;
I love you, I do.
~To my mommy...Happy Mother's Day...God bless~
(these are not my kids, and they sing the song great, but no where near as AWESOME as our little primary sang this today in church!! )

Son-Day: "Star Spangled Banner"
The Star Spangled Banner
Francis Scott Key
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Happy Independence Day

Birthday Wish...pt 2
Workcation!!
Day Five: Maryland!!!
This is where hubby needed to actually 'work',
so we stayed a whole five days at my son, Taylor, wife Lindsey, and one and a half year old grandgirl's.
Katherine is not one to smile for the camera...I really had my work cut out for me:).
One day we dressed up and had lunch with hubs and Tay.
Katherine loves her little purse.
Most of our time was just enjoying this sweet family.
One day we went to a lake/park with a great wide concrete path to walk around the lake.
Wonderful.

Son-Day: "Arlington"
Arlington
Trace Adkins
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down,
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown,
They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men,
for a job well done.
There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road,
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home,
They folded up a flag, and told my mom and dad, 'We're proud of your son'.
And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones,
I made it to Arlington.
I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight,
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay,
And when we finally found that cross,
He said, 'Son this is what it cost, to keep us free'.
Now here I am a thousand stones away from him,
He recognized me on the first day I came in,
And it gave me a chill, when he clicked his heels, and saluted me.
And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
And I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones,
I made it to Arlington.
And every time I hear, twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home, to us.
We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done,
We can rest in peace, 'cause we were the chosen ones,
We made it to Arlington, yea, dust to dust
Don't cry for us, we made it to Arlington.
Happy Memorial Day

I was able to spend the day with my mama (and hubby and brother).

Son-Day: "Glorious Day"
Glorious Day
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine
" ...Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him". Mark 16:6
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Thank you, God, for your plan, for your love, for your Son. Thank you, Jesus, for your eternal love and honor. Because of you I am and always will be. And I am thankful for it.
~God Bless~

Son-Day: "As I Have Loved You"
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God;
and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
...If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
(1 John 4:7, 11-12)

and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another....If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
(1 John 4:7, 11-12)

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye alove one another; as I have loved you, that ye also blove one another.

Weekend At The Coast
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the fam, and that weekend we took off for the beach.
It is only five hours south of us. Hubs usually goes in the spring to the Corpus Christi area (10+ hours), and this year he couldn't go.
I love to go too, and really felt like I missed out, so I planned to 'run away' this last weekend, just the two of us.
We were really on a scouting mission, to check out future camp sites. Just driving around was so fun.
The Galveston beach area was hit hard by a hurricane, and all tho it was wonderful to see the clean up, the damage was a bitter-sweet reminder of the destruction. In 2004, hubs and I stayed here. My step-daughter had graduated in 2000, all the way in WI and that was a fun trip. We couldn't afford to take the kids, and going alone was a blast:).
Then in 2004 my step-son was graduating. We were all packed and ready to go to WI, when we got the call that he would not be walking the stage, instead he would be going to his grandfather's, who just had open heart surgery (and did very well I must add)). We were bummed. Bummed for our step-son, his grandfather, our step-daughter,
and us-we really wanted to get away.
We decided to go anyway. After all the truck was loaded, sitter was arranged, day's off were set up. What the heck. Instead of north to WI we went south to the coast. Hubs insisted we stay here, on the beach, it was wonderful. We went to the Moody Garden's aquarium (first one I have been too, and I must say amazing), ate at fancy restaurants, and took a sailboat ride at sunset.
Later I asked what his favorite thing was, and he said "Walking with you on the beach."
(how romantic:)

We drove around Galveston, and on down to Port Arthur (two hours east along the coast), we walked along the beach, and in Crystal Beach we drove along the beach and hunted shells (found the best on Crystal Beach). The weather was 70 and over cast, very few people were out and it was lovely.

The old fishing pier...
Even the concrete beams and pillars have fallen...
Then I realized I was only taking pictures of the destruction...
Pictures do not do this justice...
The sounds...
The colors...
The smells...

Thankful Thursday: Veterans Day
Because it is so moving, I am re posting this video.
This young man adds his amazing voice.
Recently my son, Eric, returned from four years active duty in the Navy.
Currently my son, DJ, is overseas in Afghanistan, serving with the Army National Guard, as a paralegal.
My daughter-in-law, April, is preparing to leave for overseas with the Army National Guard, as a medic.
My son, Mike, is a reservist with the Army National Guard Reserves, as a medic.
My son, Taylor, will be leaving this month to begin basic training in the Army.
Many of my family has served this country.
I'm sure many more will.
I praise those who did, in whatever capacity.
I pray for those who are.
I pray for those who will.
God bless them all.
I pray that we, the blessed, will remember our freedom isn't free.
