Son-Day: "There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today"
There is Sunshine in My Soul Today
There is sunshine in my soul today,
More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my Light.
O there’s sunshine, blessèd sunshine,
When the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face,
There is sunshine in the soul.
There is music in my soul today,
A carol to my King,
And Jesus, listening, can hear
The songs I cannot sing.
There is springtime in my soul today,
For, when the Lord is near,
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
The flowers of grace appear.
There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope and praise and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
For joys “laid up” above.
Words: Eliza E. Hewitt, in Glad Hallelujahs, by William J. Kirkpatrick and John Sweney (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Thomas T. Tasker, Sr., 1887). Hewitt suffered a severe back injury, but after six months in a cast, she was finally able to take a simple walk in the park. The joy she felt at her recovery prompted these words.
Music: John R. Sweney (MIDI, score).

I need some in my soul, cause it is raining here.
Attendants: Carla's Church...me.
Great song, Carla.
My husband used to be a music director at church. He could never get the congregation to sing this song with the gusto that it is meant to be sung with.
Congrats you are a St Patrick's Day winner! - check my blog and get in touch :)
Wonderful song and voices! Wish I had a voice to sing and eyes to read again with out glasses. Have a wonderful day! Big hug to you and your family.
Thank you for this carol! I am always glad that somebody has the courage to sing about God and Jesus. There are people who close their ears as soon as I mention the name of Jesus.
What a wonderful Sunday posting!
Thank you for your well wishes,
Blessings to you.
