Bloomin' Tuesday: 03/10/09

Inside the house: the cyclamen have been moved to a brighter spot where hopefully they will fill out like the one in the kitchen window has. I gave mom her plants and she was so excited! Small pleasures:)

The little message bean has opened its leaves...

Lovely plant growth! The pot full of tropicals is filling out nicely, and getting a little wild for inside:))

The butterfly pea vine is even headed up through the wall decor!

We went shopping Saturday, and for the less than the price we paid for 3 trees at Lowes, we bought: 1 pear, 2 plum, and 3 grapevines. We went to Bob Wells Nursery in Lindale. They are so knowledgeable, and their stuff (everything EXCEPT flowers and veg plants) is clean and so healthy!
We now have our orchard:)

Saturday I was ONLY buying food producing plants,
till I saw this pink Jasmine:

I had one before, and found it wasn't winter hardy, so I REFUSED to buy another one, until Saturday. I figure I can put it in my tropical pot and overwinter it inside. The smell is heavenly!!

With our current warm weather, I thought very seriously of putting my big tropical pot outside on the porch today, BUT the weather will drop to the 40's later this week, so I am going to wait a while. I might have to cut it back again since it grabs you with you walk by now.

One week closer to spring!!

I'm joining MsGreen "thumb" Jean for Bloomin' Tuesday! Come join in or see others!

{from the tag: Pink Jasmine, Jazmin Rosado, Jasminum poyanthum, fast climbing, evergreen vine, clusters of fragrant flowers, attracts butterflies, rose-pink buds-open to white, spring bloom, semi-moist, hardy to 20 degrees}

I'm with you I've gotta have one of those pink Jasmines. I love your Cyclamens, They always seem to die on me. I've never heard of your bean plant, I just know I have to have one of those too. Where did you get it? Listen at me, I'm wanting everything you have, I am your typical gardener. Hugs, Rosemarie

What a great assortment of plants you got there on your deck Carla! I love the Pink Jasmine, it seems like it would be well worth wintering it inside to keep those pretty blossoms. :)

Looks like you have quite a lot to look after inside the house. I hope you fruit trees do well for you. Wise move not to put stuff outside. I have taken out and brought in so many times this year and it looks as though I my have to do it again. Boy have I ever got muscles and back ache too. So, I don't trust the weather man when he says low 40s- up on the plateau here it could freeze. lets keep our fingers crossed and at least pray for some rain.

Jasmine is my most favorite scent! Yum. I love the pea vine climbing up the wall.

We are still near frozen here which is 20 degrees below are normal temps. Expected to be nice by the weekend, and I like it nice for my birthday.

I can't wait to see how my grapevines that I planted last fall do, and the roses... and then it's on to tomatoes and jalapenos... I really am getting anxious!

I love the jasmine too! And it's wonderful to see updates about your butterfly-pea vine. It's grown!! Gorgeous cyclamen, and for the orchard:) Way to go!

You are the second person this week to show off your pink Jasmine; I'd never heard of such. You said it's not winter hardy; does it make seed or anything so that you can grow it again next year?

Oh, I know, I bought the same pink Jasmine the other day, and the smell is just heavenly! I haven't had it before. I didn't know about the nursery in Lindale. Will have to check it out.

All of them are beautiful. But I stared at 2nd photo a little longer than the others. That is just so amazing to see leaves coming out of that "seed" looking thingy (can you tell by my language I'm no gardener?) :-) I love plants even if they don't love me.

Your pink jasmine is gorgeous! I love the Cyclamen, too! I've always wanted to try it; I'm not too good with houseplants but someone told me you can put those outdoors; do you know if that's true? Patti

I love it! It's that time of year. I celebrate every time one of my houseplants does anything at all :) Also getting the garden ready to go, I can almost taste those early peas . . .
