Bloomin' Tuesday! 03/03/09

I bought one of those beans that have message imprinted on it, it is a huge bean.

above photo from eBay link:

I had the boy I babysit plant it, and but didn't take pictures (MUST document it:), so I took it out of the dirt for a photo opt. The words have already started to 'melt' because of the moisture in the peat pellet. I put it back in the peat pellet.

That little puffy peat pot thing was too small

So I upped the size, and used a real pot

Wasn't long til it started growing!!!

Loves the light in the kitchen window

And here it is today: This is like a Jack and the Beanstalk Bean. I have heard the beans don't taste so good, so we are just growing it to look at. Can you see the 'I love you' on it?

Other stuff:
Yellow Kalachoe

Old fashion redish Kalachoe

Seelings:)

Makeshift greenhouse (garden tub):

In our bedroom:

When I cut these back 02/03/09:

The tropical pot today: look at the growth!!!

Growing jasmine, and sweet potato:

Leafing out tropical bush thing:

Outside I'm enjoying this pot of sedums and daylilies and peach blossoms.

Ahhh, almost spring!

I like how you put seeds in those little bags of dirt. YOu better get ready to transplant if they all come up. Your grandchildren are beautiful. Hugs, Rosemarie

Both the indoor and outdoor plants are thriving right now. Optimum conditions, as spring is when they all feel the urge to push forth. So happy to see new things each morning. Makes me smile for sure!

Beautiful plants. I enjoyed looking at them.

Love the bean! You already have seeds started???? I want to start some so bad, but I need to wait until almost the end of the month. Otherwise they stop thriving before they can go outside.

Love your plants!

I love it! Where did the bean come from? It would make such a nifty science project! We currently have seedlings started in their little greenhouses, so I'll be transferring them next week, hopefully!

Spring is such a magical time!

I don't know how you take such good care of all those plants. You have such a green thumb. We've got potatoes in the garage from the garden last year. I've stopped using them because they've started to get soft and they are growing eyes like crazy. I told my husband that I wished it was time to plant potatoes, I would just use them for the seed potatoes.

I've never seen a bean with a message on it. Wonder what kind of bean? It's hard to tell. I remember well the first time I planted a bean in a jar and was taken with the 'miracle' sprout. I must have been about 4. I bet that little boy is thrilled.
Hope spring arrives soon for you!

Great photos! I don't have a green thumb at all, so our house doesn't have flowers around. I do have a rose bush in the backyard in memory of my beloved Golden Retriever Adonis. They do grow, until the scum neighbors steal them. Grrrrrr
