The Royal Family takes a break from a TOP SECRET council meeting.

As you can see, Queen Uno, Princess Froggee and newly appointed Peasant Pooch Representative, Princess Blu, are reading and discussing "Cesar's Rules" THE dog training manual for Pooch Patrols.

Look out Peasants Pooches, the Royal Kitties now have Dog Whisperer insight.

I had quite a chuckle seeing the cats sleeping on my dog training book!! 

Actually I'm glad they CAN'T read, or we would ALL be in trouble!!

{by the way this is a really great book!}

Public Relations

Now that things have settled down from the 'uproar' of the disappearance and then safe return of our Queen Uno,
focus has now returned to

Peasant, ummm, Public Relations with the pooches.
Princess Blu has taken on her mother, Princess Froggie's opinion of working 'one on one' with the Peasant Pooch populations.

Thanks to night vision photography,
we can see here how some talks run long into the night.
Queen Uno, herself, avoids personal contact with the Peasant Pooch population,
but her policy is one of peace,
and the kingdom can 'rest' assured the rest of the monarchy feels the same.

Puppy LadyBelle and kitten Blu shared a nap last night.  It wasn't long til they were sleeping side by side, but I couldn't get a picture of them with out waking them and ruining the moment.
Blu didn't start out a dog lover, but she is so curious she couldn't help herself.
The same can be said for LadyBelle.
They love bedtime in our big bed.
And it won't be long until they are best of buds.

Kingdom In An Uproar!!

The tabloids have been in an uproar!!!
Where is our Queen???
Of course the Kingdom's representatives have tried to keep the concern down for the sake of moral.

Princess Froggie on High Alert

But it didn't take long for the story to leak that our Queen had been missing since Friday night. 
Not known for this type of behavior, of course the court, and public were more than just concerned. 
Saturday: no sign of our Queen.
Then the weather changed for the worse.
Not for decades had the Kingdom been exposed to a winter storm
without the calm assuring 'paw' of their ruler.

 Sunday: Rain, sleet, and snow.  Still no Queen Uno.
 
Princess Blu braves the weather, and takes it upon herself to personally search for her missing Grandmother, Queen Uno.

The servants were in and out every, day looking for their leader.
There were (hushed) rumors that Princess Froggie, Queen Uno's adopted daughter, would be asked to step up and accept the crown, thus calming the nerves of the subjects.

Princess Froggie calls for the nation to 'paws' for a moment of silence.

Heavenly Father was petitioned on the Queen's behalf.

 Friday night passed,
Saturday passed,
Sunday passed,
Monday passed.




THEN,

Tuesday morning, the butler opened the front door, and gladly announced to all

"QUEEN UNO IS BACK!!"

In all her regal splendor the Queen pranced in!!
All hearts rejoiced, and much headbumping, and loving was showered.
Our Queen, our gentle ruler, had returned!!

Currently, after much fussing over, and feasting, the Queen has chosen some private time to repose herself.
Where was she?
What happened?
Right now the Queen's representatives respond with "No Comment."

{I honestly thought this would be an 'in memory of' post.  Uno does not disappear.  She is old, and does not go far, and during bad weather she is inside, ALWAYS.  She enjoys her food and NEVER goes a day without food.  Her daughter, Froggie, was quite the nut running in and out in the cold looking for her mom.  Happily, Uno showed up this morning, STARVING for food and love.  She was dry, so I'm guessing she got locked in someone's shed.  Thank you God, for hearing my humble prayer, sending her home, and giving me a few more Unowonderful days!! }

In church yesterday, I realized I regret not enjoying my life more.


So this year, I'm taking a lesson from the Queen.
Queen Uno is the MASTER at enjoying the moment.
At 10+ she has experienced much, yet she still enjoys life.
My leader, my example, my fine feline friend.

My New Pal

In January, this beauty came to live with us...
I finally got around to taking her outside and getting a good picture of her. She has a soft, medium wavy coat, black and white spots, a fluffy tail that lays over her back, and is not much bigger than my chihuahua.
She likes to stand (dance) on her hind legs,
and she has done very well letting me know when she wants to go out. She is VERY gentle with the girls I babysit, they love having a lap baby:)
She is submissive (but not too much) so she fits right in with the other dogs.
(She would like to kiss the cats, but they are not having it!)
Her name was Misty, but we have a daughter named Misty, so hubby named her Squiggles, because she squeals and wiggles.

Squig (really she deserve a prettier name) came from a good home. She was rescued at the pound by her old mom, and was her baby. When life forced changes on the home, and her mom had to go to working long hours, Squig needed a new home. I really feel like this is a perfect match. I'm in love.

*Duchess Barbie (after her rescuer) "Midnight" (hubby's idea of a joke) is a rescue. A friend found her trapped in a tree by her dogs. The poor kitty was wet, cold, dirty, and very hungry. She took her in, cleaned her up, feed and loved her, then, not being able to keep her, she called me, and we had room for her. She is solid white, pretty girl, and hubby is very fond of her.

He loves to REname my babies.

Midnight Barbie was rescued from dogs who had treed her,
by a dear friend.

She has been with us since last September,
and fits in perfectly.

Matriarch Feline, Queen Uno, approves,
and actually, that's all that really matters around here.

From a feint into a slip, and kicking from the hip

Happy Frog-gee Kitty

Our new kitty, Froggee, is fitting in perfectly!
I finally got out the kitty toys.
Oh, the fun she has in this cube, and with the natnip mouse.

She quickly accepted my puppy, Frankiebaby,
as her own, and the two of them really rip it up!!!

Even the "Queen" approves.

Bloomin' Tuesday: 07/14/09

Many of my plants will be in the upcoming wedding, currently they are getting fed and watered (and much sweet talk).
Our son's wedding will be in hot hot hot hot hot hot (get the picture?) August.
My plants really struggle to get care during the summer,
so I'm sure they are going to love this attention.

I added some perilla (purple stuff) to the big tropical pot...
Added some sun coleus to the new combo pot...
My three asparagus fern and purple jews will be in the wedding also

Pokeberry blooms, with wonderful purple berries on the way (back ground)

This Pokeberry 'weed' is so big and really providing cover for my deck this year...

Purple Porter-Weed (I think), with the tiniest bunch of flowers, Luna, and Jerusalem Sage
