Welcome Lizard!

I was surprised to see this creature on this dead plant. Really blended in. Had it not blinked, I probably would not have seen it at all.

I was hoping that maybe it was a skinny horny toad, since those are so rare around here.
But no, I did find out it was a fence lizard. So, hello lizard! Make your self right at home:) Can I interest you in my all-you-can-eat bug buffet????

Wow Carla, it's the kind I've never seen before! Beautiful! I do have a fascination for lizards and I have a few in the garden. Needless to say I spend a lot of time photographing them:)

For us here there's no respite from the summer heat! And the transition from summer to fall isn't obvious. No change of colours in foliage:( It just gets a little cooler. Sigh!

Only a lizard a mother could love. It certainly does blend. I loved my trip through your blog. Great reading. From the Ozark hills and hollers here's wishing you a wonderfully blessed day.!!!

Southern Fence Lizards are so cool...love the blue on the underneath of the males.

Cool lizard, that really blends in doesn't it. We don't get anything like that around here.

Carla, Nice lizard as lizards go.
All of my lizards are either dead or taillless. The cats make short work of my lizards.

Hi Carla,
Nice lizard! They are great for the garden, hope he makes a meal of your unwanted bugs!

We have blue tongue lizards in our yard (native to Australia???) They like to lay in the sun but are not very friendly and have a nasty bite.

I really like lizards!!! That is one cool lizard you've got there...my kids would have loved that. No lizards like that in the upper midwest...at least I don't think so...just spiders that look like ticks! ha. Maybe your lizard could come and take care of my gross spiders???

Oh that lizard is so cool! Yes I like lizards too. And you moon flowers are awesome. I could not get the video to work fox fire updated and I am having run time errors.

My son, at 31 years old, still loves all things reptile and amphibian. He had pet snakes and lizards growing up. I wish we had outdoor lizards in our area. People seem to be less afraid of them than the poor little garter snakes that make a run for it when they see a person.
