Thankful Thursday: 7 Ups

The 7 Ups

1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day.
This is the day the Lord hath made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

~Psalms 118:24~

2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.
A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at outward appearance,

But the Lord looks at the heart.
~I Samuel 16:7~

3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen.
God gave us two ears and one mouth,
So He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking.
He who guards his lips guards his soul.
~Proverbs 13:3~

4. Stand Up!!
. . . For what you believe in.
Stand for something or you will fall for anything.
Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,
We will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good...
~Galatians 6:9-10~

5. Look Up !!
. . To the Lord.
I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.
~Philippians 4:13~

6. Reach Up !!
. . For something higher.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
~Proverbs 3:5-6~

7. Lift Up !!
. . Your Prayers.
Do not worry about anything; instead
PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.
~Philippians 4:6~

A POSITIVE THOUGHT

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring, and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.
What about the Christmas gift He sent you in
Bethlehem ;
Not to mention that Friday at
Calvary .

Face it, He's crazy about you.

BT&OW: 10/26/09

Winter chill is on its way, and Saturday was a lovely day for a little re potting!!! These are year round inside plants because I don't have a good spot for them outside during the warm months.
I treated myself to some new potting soil.
Then I decided who would do best where.
As you can see, some of the house plants weren't doing well at all.
I replaced the soil in the largest pot, and added all these in for these results.
This will be in the living room.

Then I took my overgrown, root bound kitchen window pot, and, replacing the soil, added all these newbies, along with a couple tried and trues.

This is my succulent pot that goes over the kitchen window, I plopped in the old previous photo plants.

This was my kitchen window a year ago...

This is it today. We'll see how well those succulents do up there with not so much light. I also took out the long white pot on the left and watered it well, and hosed off the leaves.

I'm loving this pot, we'll see how well it does so closely planted. Meanwhile it's a showstopper:)
I re potted my Meyer lemon and pernilla (sp?), and added in an eggplant, stevia, pepper plant, and lemon balm. All this will have to come in this winter. Think I might get a bigger pot:) We'll see if the veggies keep producing in my sunny window, and make it til spring:)
I potted my stringy plants and weedy pots (snake plant, and hardy gloxina), ed grown pots together, and added a pretty geranium.
The bloom is so velvety and lovely...

Just a few more to prepare, and I'm all ready for frost and freezing weather. Have a great autumn day!!

Rainy Monday...

Brian Cronin illustration

Its raining today, and has been, and will be, on and off all week. Personally I love the rain. Nice cool, stormless rain. But we are waterlogged. After all when it rains it pours.

So, I should be cleaning house. bleh. After all I'm only babysitting one kid today, and he's napping... I can't go do the things in the yard or shed I need to do...I'm caught up on Farmtown, Farmville, and other Facebook games...

I'll feel better when I have it done right? Right????

Oh, well, off I go...hi ho, hi ho, its off to (do house) work I go...bleh

Son-Day: "Revelation Song"

Revelation Song
Philips Craig and Dean
Worthy is the,
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song,
to Him who sits on
Heaven’s Mercy Seat

Worthy is the,
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song,
to Him who sits on
Heaven’s Mercy Seat

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You
Yeah!I will adore You.

Clothed in rainbows,
of living color
Flashes of lightning,
rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor,
strength and glory and power be
To You the only wise King

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

Yeah! With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You
Yeah! I will adore You.

Holy Holy
You are Holy

Filled with wonder,
awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus, Your name is power
Breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery

Yeah! Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
Yeah! With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You
Yeah! I will adore You.
Holy Holy
You are Holy

"I know where I'm going"

I Know Where I'm Going lyrics
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you want to come too
I got my reservations
And I got one for you
The trains leavin' just after dark
There's always room for a lovin' heart
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you wanna come too
I know my destination
It's all waiting for you
I got no hesitation
That's where I want to be
And by the time that the sun comes up
I'll be drinkin' from a lovin' cup
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you want to come too
(Chorus)
Don't you wanna come
Don't you wanna ride
Don't you wanna be there by my side
Hand in hand
Holding on to
The sweet salvation
That's waiting for me and you
I know why I'm singin'
Don't you want to sing too
Can't you hear the bells a ringin'
Let the spirit move you
Just close your eyes
And let it flow
Lean your head back, let it go
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you wanna come too
(Repeat Chorus)
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you wanna come too
I got my reservations
And I got one for you
I know why I'm singin'
Don't you want to sing too
Can't you hear the bells a ringin'
Let the spirit move you
Spirit move you, yeah
I know where I'm going'
Don't you wanna come too
I know where I'm goin'
Don't you wanna come too

just a mere 21 years later...love ya babe!!

Can you see Bilbo, the Golden Garden Gnome, in each picture???

The sun is out, its cooler, and very lovely outside now.

Everything is lush and happy.

Ahhhh, fall in East Texas:)

Our growing seasons are Spring and Fall.
Summer is our 'down time'.

Here in East Texas we get lots of rain in fall and winter.
That and the cooler temps bring out the blooms and make foliage colors really pop!!

Making our plants happy happy happy!!!

And the gardener very happy also!!

Bilbo's next assignment is New Mexico!!!
See April, the Dirt Princess of Trials and Tribulations of a Southern Gardener blog for the official announcement:)

Where In The World Is BILBO?? Lake Fork, Texas!!

Today's Show And Tell will be by World Renowned Blog Star Bilbo.

Hello from the Lone Star State, where EVERYTHING, including ant hills, is bigger!!

Fresh from my visit in the state of Florida (state most left bottom of map),
where I partied with Darla of the More Family and Flowers blog,

I arrived re-freshed and ready to go!

Texas, the Lone Star State, USofA is a large state with something for everyone.
West Texas has its desert area...

The top of Texas, also known as the Panhandle, is very prairie.

This area is known as the Hill Country, San Antonio, Houston, Austin area.
Austin is the capital, it and west Texas,
is the area most people think of when they think Texas.

Then there is the coast, great beach frontage.

Don't forget the Metroplex, Dallas Fort Worth area!!

But, I was headed to East Texas.
The Piney Woods.
The Lake Area of Texas.
VERY Piney!!
See me in the top right pic???

No, not BIG A*S, it says BIG BASS!

Lots of longhorn cows and buffalo.
(Milk cows too, but trust me the fields were so muddy and nasty,
you DO NOT want to see them)

Love this tree...

Trust me, I don't need a sign to relax and enjoy!!
Ahhhhh, lake life....
Almost every town, big or small has its own lake...
I could sit out here all day...
I make this look good...

Gift time!!
A gentleman always gifts the hostess, and gift I did!!
Thanks to Darla for helping with these treats!!

The first night we gathered around the fire light,
and I told my new friends all about my travels all over the world...

Of course, they were spell bound...

Everyday, I had tea time with the local ladies.
They couldn't get enough of me...
(Ladies, you know you are each so special to me...)
I had the whole guest house to myself...

Perfect for this Super Star...
(BIG thanks to Darla's daughter for the wonderful pillow)

Due to almost non-stop rain, and flooding, and loss of Internet access,
my stay was extended,
and I was upgraded to the castle quarters.

I'll say the castle is the way to go!!

Thank goodness I arrived!!!
These people SO needed my help!!!
I organized the meals-on-wheels...
(had BIG fun hanging out with our helper Kim!!
Kim, love ya girl!!! (said in Tex-speak))

I used my gardening skills to help the lady of the house make much progress on FarmTown and FarmVille...

I led the grands in filling and organizing the new sewing chair.

Very comfortable by the way...
The lady of the house and I 'tour'da'yard',
and I was able to give her valuable info,
and ideas for improvements ...

I suggested the grands paint these squash for Halloween,
sorry I won't be there for the final product.

We checked things at dirt level.
Trust me, I know dirt...

I suggested the blocks were added to the fall decorations,
Much, much, better...

"Boo"
I spent time with Queen Uno.
She is a lovely monarch.
Such beauty and grace.
We discussed world matters.
I know she really has benefited from my wisdom.

I feel like my mission here is accomplished.
Where in the World will Bilbo go next???

Declaration:
This blog post has been reviewed and approved by Queen Uno.
~Long Live the Queen~
