Bloomin' Tuesday! 12/09/08

Forgot I was 'bloomin' today:)
I said I wasn't getting another African Violet after I murdered my last one.
BUT this was marked down to .75 cents, and just bloomin its head off, so its my new friend. I bought the 'drum' at Goodwill.

I decided I DESERVED a rosemary Christmas tree this year~!!!! And I love it! Don't know where I'm putting it in the spring, and if I'm keeping it sheared or letting it go 'wild', I'll figure that out later:)
(smells sooooo gooooooooodddddddd:)

Fake Fake Fake! I decided to get new fake picks this year, and then add them to the 'cemetery fund' (mom's stash of fake flowers for family tombstones)
So simple, and SO easy! Plus it keeps the cats out of this pot, and oh, my, looks like we got quite a bit of needed rain!!!

Your violet was a steal at 75 cents! It looks cute in the drum. I love the rosemary. May have to look into one of those. Jean

Cool photos. Careful with the African Violet, don't get the leaves wet. I have a rosemary that my husband bought last Christmas, we kept it in the pot and trimmed until the end of summer. Now I cannot decide to if I want to trim it or let it go wild. I have another that is a decent size.............Nothing wrong with a little color even if it's fake, anyway you are helping out the "cemetary fund".

I really like the Rosemary tree. I have a large Rosemary plant. I should shape it into something - maybe a tree. It is a really hardy plant.
Stop by my blog when you have time. I have something there for you. (smile)

My daughter gave me an African Violet and I killed it too. About the only thing that I can keep alive is a Peace Lilly. Good thing it's my favorite. lol

I can't grow anything to save my life. I have this one indoor tree, however, that I ignore for weeks, yet after 10 years, it still lives. Crazy tree.

Violets wilt when they see me coming. Now, Mom could grow violets. When she was in the hospital her friend would call to tell us to water the violets at noon every day and only water from the bottom.
Good luck!

I always wanted one of those rosemary trees, simply because of the smell. I have 2 small rosemary's out by the front walk, and HAVE to touch them every time I pass them, the smell is so wonderful.

Your violets look great! Maybe mine didn't survive because I didn't know how to water them. Reading other's comments can be so interesting...the rosemary tree looks wonderful!!

African Violets are one of the few things I can grow. Mine started blooming when I repotted it almost a year ago. It hasn't stopped! As long as it's warm and doesn't get too much water, it's a happy violet.

Love the color on yours.

I've never had an African Violet--but I'd get one for 75 cents!
I have several large Rosemary shrubs that have never been pruned or sheared and I think they are beautiful naturally. However, if you have limited room, trimming is almost mandatory as they get huge.
