Son-Day: Mother I love you

Mother I Love You
Mother, I love you;
Mother, I do.
Father in heaven has sent me to you.
When I am near you,
I love to hear you
Singing so softly that you love me too.

Mother, I love you;
Mother, I do.
I want to help you because I love you.
I want to mind you;
I want to find you
Happy and smiling because I love you.

Mother, I love you;
I love you, I do.

~To my mommy...Happy Mother's Day...God bless~

(these are not my kids, and they sing the song great, but no where near as AWESOME as our little primary sang this today in church!! )

TT: 07/14/11 Week In Review

This last week we had  little man, Kale stay the night...

Granddarling Kale

And since my DIL was down from Maryland, we set up a tack quilting at my mom's.
Mom, DS DJ, GF Brittany, DD Misty, DIL Lindsey; Granddarlings LauraJune, David, Katherine, Jeremiah
I watched the grands while the 'girls' worked at the table.
Grandgirl, Katherine's quilt was tacked first and she TOTALLY approved of the Dora print mom found.
Mom, DIL Lindsey, grandgirl Katherine, and myself
So much fun to have most of my girls together, and four of our six grandbabies together.

Then Saturday, we picked up (visiting from MD son) Tay, and Mike and grandboy Kale, to attend son DJ's promotion at drill.
SS Mike and grandboy Kale
DJ wanted Tay to pin him, and even tho this really wasn't a 'family' thing, it was great to be there.

Bottom Right pic: DS Taylor, hubby, DS DJ, SS Mike, grandboy Kale
Mike is in the Guard too and looks as fine as Tay and DJ do in his uniform.

We left DJ to do his drill stuff, and went to IHOP:), woohoo IHOP pancakes!!!

Then we dropped off Mike and Kale, and took Tay back to his in-laws where they were preparing to load up and fly back to Maryland.

Tay and Lindsey
I'm very blessed, and so thankful to have family close by (and Facebook for those not so close by).
Have a lovely, Thankful Thursday!!

Outdoor Wednesday: Home Sweet Home

The wedding on Saturday will be at my mom's. It is on a small, quiet lake point with beautiful waterfront views on two sides of the house. This is the side yard (where the wedding won't be, I'll do the front and other side next).

This was my grandparent's house, they built in the 60's. It was their dream home. All the children, including my mom helped.

In the bed along the house Grandma's Rose of Sharon blooms,

And currently, a newer addition of Bouncing Bet.

This is the lake side of the yard. It is a steep hill with Bird Of Paradise, Four o Clocks, and Passion vine. Some of the uglier plants were moved over here out of the way...

What a view!!! (actually one of many)

At night this is all a bloom with the pink Four o Clocks...
My daughter gave my mom the wagon wheel bench, I'll show you its special spot later...

Inside is all the wedding goodies...Bride-to-be wanted floating candles on the tables, and mom just happened to have SIX crystal bowls.

I told mom I wanted a tiered candy dish on the serving table, and mom pulled this candy dish (in a matching pattern) from the cabinet!
What else does she have stashed in there????
Absolutely perfect....

The dresser is full of plates and serving ware, crochet table cloth, napkins, bubbles, etc...

On the bed is the pile of 'fluff' as we call it. We girls just must have fluff!!! Tulle and Paper Wedding Bells, Flowers, Table Runner, Tea Light Lanterns, Candles, and more...

Signs are made, today I go to mom's for the house cleaning, Thursday is final yard cleaning, Friday pre-decorating, Saturday morning table, chair, and crepe paper set up, Saturday night wedding...

Our couple has their marriage license, their rings, Tuesday night they met with the Bishop to discuss the ceremony, they are VERY ready!!!
(sorry for the fuzzy pic, hubby's camera doesn't do night time photos well, and my camera needs batteries)

Bloomin' Tuesday: 08/04/09

We have had tons of rain (Big Smile) and my plants are loving it!!!
(so are the weeds)
The poke berry plants has just about covered the potted plants I plant on using in the wedding. But the contrasting colors are wonderful.

So I decided to pull the potted plants to give them a chance to straighten up.

I put them on the walkway (for the week),
you can see further on the secret garden is growing wild.
My wagon will be in the wedding also.
Can't wait to see how the girls decorate it.

Wow, this poke berry really needs to be trimmed, see the holes where I pulled the pots?
You can barely see the other large pots.
Yep, Mr. Poke Berry is getting a serious trim.

My new lantana plants are doing well, and blooming, totally loving the rain!!
There are three different ones in this photo.

The moon plant has really spread, look at all the 'candles' ready to bloom.
Wish we had this size plant at my mom's for the wedding.
It is an evening wedding, and this baby really blooms like crazy with sweet citrus blooms in the evening.
Also there is pink Turk's cap, and yellow lantana here.

Currently my fleece flower, Red Dragon, is really growing.

Now I remember why I planted the obedience plant in front of this grouping, since it is a sprawler.
Fleece flower, and sweet spire on the left, then obedient plant

The obedient plant started out tall, then was weighted down by the blooms, and falls.
But then it turn up and blooms.
AND blooms along the fallen stem.
You really get more blooms that way.

Just masses of loose purple blooms. Star of my yard now.

Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!

Son-Day: "Daddy's Hands"

For my daddy, my babies' daddy,
the daddies of my grandbabies
and my Heavenly Daddy

Daddy's Hands
Holly Dunn
I remember Daddy´s hands,
folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me,
when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story,
in the callouses and lines.
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy´s hands,
how they held my Mama tight,
And patted my back,
for something done right.
There are things that I´ve forgotten,
that I loved about the man,
But I´ll always remember the love in Daddy´s hands.

Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands,
were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands,
weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love in Daddy´s hands.
I remember Daddy´s hands,
working 'til they bled.
Sacrificed unselfishly,
just to keep us all fed.
If I could do things over,
I´d live my life again.
And never take for granted the love in Daddy´s hands.
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love in Daddy´s hands.

~Happy Father's Day!!!~

By the Light of The (almost) Full Moon

We take a break from our regularly scheduled ~Moon Phase Monday~ to bring a 'different' kind of harvest....

The moon was almost full, the sky clear, a gentle breeze in the air...

The 'dress' of the day was freshly washed, dried and ready to go...

(this cap and gown had been worn by three brothers so far, tonight was its final mission)

The superstars were out in all their glory...

Snacks were provided by the establishment...

On the 'red carpet' were the featured stars of the day...

Which SUPERSTAR was ours????
Taylor Edward our youngest, and current High School Graduate of 2009.

We sat through the ceremony, then, finally, it was time for action!!!

Here our SUPERSTAR is receiving diploma...

Here he is shaking his (nemesis) Principal's hand (and handing over a cell phone, this was their Senior prank, each of the 77 students handed over a cell phone to the principal-he was cracking up)

Lil grand David managed to stay awake (actually managed to "not go to sleep")

Grandgirl Laura June managed to not give in to pending 'fits'
(someones missed their nap time earlier in the day)

There were fireworks...

Then picture time with our hero!!!
Uncle Tay with LauraJune and David

Grandma and Taylor

Tay and greatuncle

Ma, Tay, Pa (we are ALL busting with pride!!)

(see the moon???) Congratulations Taterbaby!!!

All SEVEN of our children have graduated High School. I'd like to take credit for this, but other than moral support, I know these kids did it on their own!!!
Taterbaby, I love you more than words can express!!!
Go, Take on the World!!!
(big shout out to brother Eric, sister Misty, mom Grandma, uncle, and friends who were able to come to support our boy, err, man:)
