Where Creative Bloggers Create...

Brenda of thebrendablog is hosting 'Where creative bloggers create'.
I kinda 'peeked' at the places already listed, and right off the bat-WOW!
ANYWAY, I wanted to show you my humble-messy corner!

My little desk is a garage sale find for 5 bucks. Very small and cheap it fits the bill. I had a bigger desk with shelves. BUT I was cluttering it up. So I down sized. It was also covering up a window. My computer has to be in the living room
one-because I still have a minor in the house;
two-because, when hubby is home, me on the computer, him watching tv is considered 'quality time';
three-because when I babysit, the kids play in the living room, so I can play on the computer;
fourth-see the tv? I can 'multi-task' watching tv and blogging! I can also watch things on the stove top (cant WAIT till a wall is built there!)
I didn't crop or clean up. I'm kind of pleased this is as messy as it gets!
The cords WILL be hid behind a board.
The little drawer, and divider will go in a drawer under the tv.
The cords plugging in the front of the computer (only one plug works) will be plugged in the back of the tower.
See my trusty camera? My timer (I have to limit myself to computer time to get something DONE 'ROUND HERE)? My printer? My chair swivels and reclines (it needs the seat recovered). I HAVE IT ALL!
Someday I will find the perfect PRETTY desk to house my 'creative spot' till now, this will do nicely! I look forward to checking out your spaces and getting some ideas!!!

Lazy May is my nickname:)

I have been bad bad bad! We went on a trip last week-so I guess I took this week off. I downloaded a yahoo online game AND bought the upgrade (something I never do) AND SPENT ALL NIGHT PLAYING IT (literally-up till 5:30 AM! Its Ranch Rush and I am addicited). Between that, and a day of shopping, and BLOGGING!!!! (actually visiting other people's blogs:), NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE HERE! I had piles of pots and pans in the kitchen for days waiting to be put back (in some order) in the cabinets, stuff on every inch of counter top, messy messy washroom waiting to be organized, a pile starting on hubby's empty side of bed (he is out of town), and one on my bedside table-for DAYS! The piles crept-eth in quick-eth:(. I have promised myself THIS house won't get that way, so, I took a deep breath, set my timer to 15 minutes and spent 15 on 15 off. 15 minutes of play time, 15 minutes of homekeeping (I won't call it work cause it wasn't)
Soo, here is my washroom!

This is my before picture: (and it has been WORSE!)

Hubby added a shelf (thank you sweetheart:). When we moved in the shelf in our closet came down (boom crash FULL of clothes:), and we replaced it with a wire organizer (thanks for that too sweetie), and used the shelf for washroom storage!

Since I don't have a place for these big things in the kitchen (and I have no pantry-they are going up here on top), I needed another shelf for cleaners and other laundry room stuff.

So here it is all nice and clean! The extra cleaners are just put up there for now. Ahh look at all the room!

Then I remembered I needed to put the worm bin and cat food back up there. So...this is the (current) finished job! I'm on the look out for a smaller worm bin, and the cat food will be going outside later.

Hubby hung this up, I think I'm going to get more hooks. This is a very shallow wall.

The animal food will be going outside when the covered area is built this fall, and I need to find something better for the step-stool (its also my high chair), and doggy gate.
Also I tidied up the backyard, rearranged the rabbit cage/compost pile, worked a hour in the shed, put up all the stuff in the kitchen, tidied up my bedroom, cleaned off my counter tops, AND had tons of guilt free computer time!!! Ok, times up-gotta get back to homemaking! Today is the kitchen floor (NNNNAAAASSSTTTYYY) and fridge (and MAYBE homeblessing hour:)

HAVE A WONDERFUL SATURDAY!!!!

I'm an organizing fool!

Not really:) I do like things orderly-I just don't like organizing it:). We moved here in May 08. The kitchen was organized, but not so anything could be added (like all the boxes I still have to unpack). I put it off and put it off. Then hubby brought in the freezer. It has to go in the kitchen (not where I want it-but that is the only place for it). SO, I had to move the baker's rack out. It had a bread box, pots and pans (waiting for the pot rack to be hung up), big stuff like the electric fryer, crock pot, roaster etc. It was messy looking and needed to be moved. But now I had to get off my rear and get it in gear:). Well, I prayed for some divine help, and Saturday I worked on reorganizing the kitchen. First I organized the spices, then the stapes, then the island. The island has to house canned goods, extra food, storage bags, and pots and pans.

This was the island before. Nice and organized right? But nothing different can be added without causing a mess. Notice the wooden column in the back?

This wooden column or 'box' housed the electric cord for a outlet. IT WAS HUGE! What a waste of space (and in my way)

Closer inspection showed it was loose-so I pulled it apart (Just exactly WHY there was a plastic glove in there?????)

I did the same on the bottom shelf and found NASTY GROSS MOUSE DROPPINGS!!! I had to show hubby-he said with our cats we shouldn't have mice. We discussed taking a kitten and stuffing it down that hole to kill the mouse/mice. In the end we bought a mouse trap-nasty gross mice!

Back to the task at hand-top shelf left side-I used a leftover cabinet door (from dishwasher install-thanks hubby) for my divider. That way I can have two layers of rows of cans.

This is the right side of cabinet-I put them in abc order (except Bush Baked Beans and Tomatoes). And made a list of what we needed to fill it up the rest of the way.

Then to Walmart we went. Hubby did the adding (he is a math freak-yes-I said freak-the man LOVES math! I say 'more power to him') and bought what was needed
-ONLY what was needed-
AND a little mini rose (my addiction)
AND Diet A&W (hubby's addiction)

$98.98 (PLUS stupid gas money) later (I only wanted to spend $100.00 on food storage): Left side of organized island cabinet

Right side of organized island cabinet-aren't the rows pretty?

And because I miss counted here are the extra cans-and the noodles that go in another cabinet. When I open the cabinets now-they sing! (Well, all but two that I'm working on today:)

Oh Happy Day,

Oh Happy Day...
Oh Happy Day...
When the trashman took my trash away!

Tuesday is trash day.
My favorite day.
How amazing it is!
You put your trash in the bin.
And a truck comes by and takes it away!
IF YOU PAY THE BILL!

In June I paid the bill due July 1st:)
I also paid the bill due August 1st:)
Yes I was a month ahead!:)
Big stuff!:)
Wrote the check, mailed the payment.:)
Two weeks later the envelope came back to me:<
I had mailed it to myself:<
And they didn't pick up my trash because NOW I'm late:(
So, I mailed the bill BACK:)
Double checking the stamp, the address, the check, the the the, well everything.:>
IT was recieved to late for trash pick up that week-last Tues to be exact:(
BUT TODAY THE TRASHMAN CAME AND TOOK ALL MY TRASH AWAY!:)
(needless to say the bin was full to the rim)

I looked out the window and what did I see?
The trash man taking the trash for me!
This has brought me such a big huge smile!
Trash man taking my trash for me!
(think popcorn popping on the apricot tree)

You will all be happy to know, we are now trash free!
Junk free?
No, I said trash free!!!
Heeheee HaaaHaa!
Now to go start a new bag for NEXT Tuesday!
{doesn't take much to excite me:}

Thursday is terrific!

Growing in an over planted root bound (needs re potting) washtub-my Glory Bower finally bloomed!
We got up early (big feat for me:)
Watered outside-
moved some sun lovers to replace some sun burnt plants on front porch-
planted herb/rose pot (I have lots more to pot up or add dirt too since we bought dirt yesterday (I love dirt!))
Now I'm back inside and am going to clean house today (15 min at a time) with home blessing hour.
This eve I will spread ant poison and 7 dust after Visiting Teaching (I have to find some little game or something for this sister's kiddos to do while my partner shares the message-hhmmmmm)
Yesterday hubby and I spent the whole day together:
Paid bills :)
To food storage we added:
8 pk soap
2 toothpaste
1 cornmeal
1 white flour
1 6 gal water container
We bought a part for the weed eater-and replaced the lawnmower (both were murdered the same week).
Hubby accidently shut Uno (our old cat) up in the shed-By chance (thank you Holy Ghost), I heard her meow (she can't meow loud), as I passed by hours later and checked-no damage done-just an unhappy hot tired cat.
We took the old table out of the house (today I will clean the kit floor and put the new table in place).
Then he re-matted my Jesus puzzle, and hung up pictures on the walls (with mollies-we have mobile home walls and needed extra strength).
I love doing stuff with him:)
It really is feeling like home.
Yep-its all coming together! I'm so blessed!
{Prayers for our southern TX and the hurricane Dolly cleanup}

Closet Flybaby...

I'm a flybaby. There I said it. I'm a side-tracked-homemaker. In our family we call it 'swab' (said with love), or 'clutter-bug'. I fell off the flybaby wagon, so I'm crawling back on today. I have my grandbabies-Laura June 18 mos, David 6 mos, and my extras-R 4 yrs, K 2 1/2 yrs, so I will work around David's needs today. It is amazing how much I got done Monday with all four just 15 minutes at a time (15 minutes cleaning-15 minutes computer time:)! I cleaned both bathroom (nasty floors), my room (was getting piled up), and did laundry (yes, wash dry AND put away!!), plus kept an eye on the little ones!!!!

So, off to do my morning routine, zone for the day, and finish up the mess in my bedroom-expect a progress report tomorrow!!!! Babystep, babystep, babystep...
