If Your Happy and You Know It...

If your happy and you know it clap your hands...

"Happiness is not about having what you want, its about wanting what you have"

If your happy and you know it clap your hands...

"The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase;
If you pursue happiness, you'll never find it."

If your happy and you know it...

"Don't let the sadness of your past, and the fear of the future, ruin the happiness of your present."

Then your face will surely show it...

"Today is better than yesterday!"

If your happy and you know it...

"The Happiest people don't have it all, they just make the best with what they've got!"

CLAP YOUR HANDS!

A free gift from above"

"Will you live or merely exist?"

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out....." ----Gordon B. Hinkley
(taken from Lisa Lou at Is that a garage door on my ceiling?)

You know the saying "if mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy"? Well for the sake of peace in my home (where my people hang their hearts), mama is going to try, really try, to be happy, and make this place a safe, happy home!!! (send me some prayers? ;)

Me taking time to appreciate makes me happy, AND makes my house run better, AND helps others have a safe place to fall.

I love this first quote!
"Happiness is not about having what you want, its about wanting what you have"
I would love it written on my living room wall or down my hallway.
When I take time to enjoy what I have, my world is truly a MORE peaceful place!

Ike graditude...

"Aren't you glad about (hurricane) Ike?" said my son Taylor.

Yes, actually I am...

One Sunday recently, I had big exciting plans. Up early to put chili in the new crockpot I just bought, (Mr. Crockpot will have his own post:) church in the morning, lunch at mom's with family watching church broadcast on her tv-playing candy bingo, while eating chili, cheese, cornbread, and dipping fresh veggies all day!!! VERY exciting!

Hubby and I got up early, to start the chili.
The water was off.
WHAT?
Is it possible?
NO WATER?????
I always keep at least one gallon jugs of water in the fridge, but that wasn't going to be enough.
I needed (YES NEEDED) to wash my hair and sure did NOT want to use super cold fridge water to do that!

Then we remembered we had filled the water containers out in the shed during our preparation for hurricane IKE!
WOOHOO!
We had filled the BIG barrels (I don't know where the syphon is though) AND the small 6 gallon jug (recently purchased, one payday at a time at Walmart). I have had these for a while, empty. Preparing for hurricane Ike, pushed me to fill them.

Hubby brought in one 6 gallon jug and we used it to cook, clean, and wash my hair. I used a funnel to put it in a clean, empty milk jug for easier usage. I was happy!

The water was turned back on later that day.

As it turned out, we were under a 'boil water notice' for days!! This water in the jug came in so handy! I used faucet water for cleaning and cooking, and poured my 'stored water' for drinking. I didn't even use the whole 6 gallon jug!!!

I love water, it is my favorite thing. To see it, feel it, drink it.

It makes me happy!
It's my one GOOD habit!!!

I am thankful we prepared for the hurricane.
It was small and easy.
I am thankful the damage wasn't as big as they feared.
I (still) pray for those affected.
In any way.

I love scriptures that speak of water, because I understand the necessity of it, and the desire for it.
My favorite one lately. Pslams 42: 1-2
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?"
Made me think, do I CRAVE my time with God?
Why or Why not?
(hart is a deer, also a family name, and MY HEART:)
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the never ending water.

Tank up on BOTH!!!
You never know when you might need some!!!
Have a wonderful week!

My Favorite Things: Abide With Me

Join in!!!!

This is my first time:), (one of my favorite songs AND movies:) and I'm excited to have a good excuse to share my FAVORITE Greg Olsen art. This man has such talent!
Abide With Me by Greg Olsen

I saw this at our bookstore (near Dallas Temple-he has an incredible amount of huge beautiful art), huge, original painting, unframed, for $199.00! I had $250.00 cash in my pocket. There we stood, the painting and I! BUT I didn't NEED it. So, I walked away, and decided there must be a better (cheaper) way. Previously we have put a puzzle together, and framed it, very cheaply, SO that was my goal! Oh, the colors and detail!!! I'm a garden nut so this was just TOO perfect! And Jesus, well, he just glows in this piece!

YEARS later I found this puzzle at my bookstore (WOOHOO WOOHOO), last one, just for me, bought it on the spot, for myself for Christmas, I put it together (the family wasn't interested), glued it, found the frame at a thrift store (mom and I, she found a frame for her puzzle art:), bought a mat at Hobby Lobby, hubby put it together, and for about forty bucks it graces my living room, across from the front door, first seen by all that enter!
(my photo doesn't do it justice with the glare and all)
It reminds of the reward, the lighter yoke, the promise that is true and proven. That all this IS WORTH IT! I hope it speaks to all that enter also!!!

Below is Greg Olsen's comments on this piece:
Most of humankind has experienced some yearning for what might be described as a time of heavenly rest. This image represents that welcome arrival recorded in Matthew 25:21, ""Well done, thou good and faithful servant...enter thou into the joy of thy lord."" The Book of Revelation (7:17) declares: ""For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."" The fountain in the background is a reminder of those living waters and is based on an earlier painting entitled Be Not Afraid. In that image, Jesus is shown helping two small children across a turbulent stream, leading and even carrying them to the safety of the other side. This painting represents the ""other side"" of that turbulent stream, a place of eternal rest, where we might imagine Him to say, ""Abide with me.""
{I just so happen to have the "Be Not Afraid" in my bedroom, it being my earlier framed puzzle art:}
