Christmas Treasures: Special Stockings

My mother is a marvelous crocheter
Growing up, my brother and I had HUGE crocheted stockings,
One year I asked her to make matching crocheted stockings for all seven of my children, and hubby.
Each 'top' was different:
Out of nine we are now down to these: this is 18 yos (the baby)

Hubby (whose mother was also a crochetier) loves pineapples:

Mom topped the stocking my grandmother sewed and appliqued for me:

Instead of a chimney, our stockings are hung on the fishtank with care...
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

Santa always takes our stockings down, and leaves them filled under the tree,
I hope you all had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  3. I had never thought of this!! Really beautiful and such a great way to showcase a special talent and treasure! I have a runner for the top of my piano that my Grandma made but nobody gets to see it way up there! I wish I would have seen this idea before she passed away--
    Love the fish tank----you will love this--ours are hung on the gun cabinet--oh dear....

  4. Your Mother did a beautiful job on those stockings! A wonderful treasure for your family. My husband's grandmother knitted my boys a couple of stockings years & years ago in candy cane stripes of red & white and green & white.

  5. The stockings are so pretty. How funny that they are hung on the fish tank! Makes me wonder? Where do people hang them when they have no chimney? I see someone else said they hung them on the gun cabinet.LOL!

  7. the stockings are beautiful. I wish I could crochet. I sewed a stocking each for my son and soon to be wife this year. I figure he'll need another one when he marries in January, since I'll probably be keeping his old one here.
