Way back in Kindergarten my teacher had a cat clock.
Hers looked like Felix the cat.
{back in the 70s I went to a private Kindergarten,
at an ooooollllllddddd lady's tiny house.
She served jello or pudding for snacks,
and wouldn't let me use my left hand to write
(because lefties are messy-righties are neater).
She wore her gray hair in a bun.
She was tough and fair.
Mrs. Buell in Cooper, TX-I loved her.}
On Ebay I found this one that suits me better!
{AND was the right price!}
Isn't she just TOO COOL!
She hangs in the livingroom, and always receives complements!
She blinks her pretty eyes, swishes her long black tail
AND she keeps good time!
What a gal!
Thanks for joining me! Join others for Show & Tell!
I love this. And, I remember those very same clocks from back in my youth!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Show n Tell day
This is such a cool clock and I love the memory that it brings back to you.
ReplyDeletecute clock!!
ReplyDeleteI am left handed and when I was in kindergarten (public school) my teacher made me hold my paper like the rest of the kids in class (who were right handed) I think that is why I have such bad handwriting today.
My mother bought my son a clock like this when he was a little boy. I still remember it hanging on the wall in his room. That was many years ago. He's 45 years old now.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I always remember this clock being in Honey I Shrunk the Kids. :)
ReplyDeleteI am jalous !! I want such a clock lol !! I also have one with a cat over each hour but yours is far better ! So cute !
ReplyDeleteYour clock is totally cute!
ReplyDeleteYour kindergarten teacher sounded like my 4th grade teacher.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Who could ask for anything more. She sounds like a winner. Too cute.

And I gave a felix the cat one to charity a few years ago... My MIL gave it to me. I kept it in my kitchen until I redecorated. It was electric. It worked and kept good time! If I had known, I would have given it to you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your cat though. It is much more sophisticated. :D
The cat clock is so cute and funny. My mom used to have one like that - don't know what happened to it. So cute!

Cool clock and even cooler story. So sweet you ended it with that you loved her. I went to k.too for probably the same reason my parents thought I would learn to be right handed. Didn't work. My teacher told them from the start I was left handed! It was a struggle though all the way through school. Remember those half desks. Most were for righties! When I think of the descrimination LOL!
ReplyDeleteI loved the clock and thanks for coming over to see me today too.
Don't you just love Show and Tell?
BTW I am in Texas too.
Smiles,
S.
It is, indeed a small world. I had a great aunt and uncle who lived in Cooper, TX, long ago when I was a small child!
ReplyDeleteI remember the original cat clock, it's tail swung and eyes blinked!
I love the clock!!!! I remember seeing one of those when I was a kid and thought it was cool then too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog by the way:)
Blessings,
Gayly

I have this same kitty clock! And I love it too! Only thing is--mine broke while moving :{ It was a gift from my Mom and I would like to replace it--you say you got it on eBay? Did they have any more? What catagory did you find it in?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words left at the cabin!
Blessings to You!

My husband (left-handed) is very fond of telling me (rt-handed) “The right half of the brain controls the left half of the body. This means that only left handed people are in their right mind.” (*smile*) I love the retro kitty clock! I'm also enjoying reading your blog & love your scrolling photos at the bottom ---your grandchildren are adorable! (also thanks so much for vising my blog), Patti
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute clock!!
